Ruberoid's 'Fix That Hut' campaign seeks out needy projects such as village halls, scout huts and other buildings which are at the heart of local communities and provides materials free-of-charge to help with refurbishment.
The campaign was launched in 2006 to celebrate Ruberoid's centenary year, and was inspired when the company pledged materials and support for the restoration of Captain Scott's hut in the Antarctic, for which Ruberoid roofing was originally used in 1911.
This year (2009), they hope to help many more communities preserve and restore their precious meeting places, halls and huts. If you would like to nominate a project you can download a form from the website and submit it online.
Friendly, helpful people - if you've got the labour or a tame contractor, why not apply (we did)? We didn't succeed due to oversubscription but re-applications are invited., Robin Gould - Dell Lane Scout & Guide HQ
